If you like bears we heard Rising Sun Campground in Glacier National Park may be the perfect place to see one. We did not see any during our time in the campground but one of the staff next door at the Rising Sun Hotel told us that they are always having to check for bears because they are that common in the area.
The Rising Sun Campground is near the Rising Sun General Store which has a great selection of snacks, beer, wine, and other supplies. The Otokomi Lake trailhead is in the parking lot of the general store.
With the high number of bears in the area, you will want to make sure you have bear bells and bear spray with you. You can buy it on Amazon ahead of time to make sure you have it.
Rising Sun Campground gives you easy access to boat tours on St Mary Lake, Logan Pass, Going to the Sun Road and so many amazing sites in Glacier.
Adjacent to the campground is easy access to a general store and restaurant.
